My name is "I Am"
Posted by pastorpaul on: Tuesday 04 May @ 19:06:33 (Read: 382) |
My Name is “I Am”
I was regretting the past and fearing the future. Suddenly my Lord was speaking: "My name is 'I AM.'" He paused. I waited. He continued, "When you live in the past with its mistakes and regrets, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not 'I WAS.' When you live in the future with its problems and fears, it is hard. I am not there. My name is not 'I WILL BE.' When you live in this moment, it is not hard; I am there! My name is 'I AM!'"

Jeses wants us to follow his example of serving others
Posted by pastorpaul on: Friday 19 March @ 13:32:48 (Read: 276) |
On a September day in 1967, a young fighter pilot named John McCain was shot down over North Vietnam. With his plane spiraling to earth at 500 miles an hour, he ejected. He struck the plane on the way out, breaking his left arm, his right arm in three places, and his right knee. He landed in a shallow lake, before he was dragged out and beaten by an angry crowd. Finally an army truck arrived and hauled him away. He spent the next five years as a prisoner of war.

SHE LEFT HER WATERPOT! JOHN 4:7-29
Posted by Anonymous on: Tuesday 16 March @ 20:11:05 (Read: 1805) |
Jesus was weary and thirsty. On his northward journey from Judea to Galilee, He chose to go through Samaria. The Bible says, And He had to pass through Samaria.
Actually He chose to. Normally Jews would take a route that would bypass Samaria. But Jesus had an appointment there with a woman who didn't even know it.
The disciples went into the city to buy food. He stayed by the well of Jacob at Sychar, a city of Samaria. Then she came. She came alone probably because she had few real friends; she came to this out of the way spot possibly because she was shunned in the city.

I Have a Dream
Posted by Anonymous on: Tuesday 16 March @ 20:10:48 (Read: 1124) |
I dream of a church that is inclusive in its mission, of a table long enough and wide enough and high enough to bring all people to the feast of the heavenly banquet. I dream of a church where people of all colors and dialects, races and nationalities, tribes and cultural families can come together in a bond of unity that knows no bounds save the knowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord of all the earth. Great Britain and Egypt, the United States and Mexico, Australia and the Philippines, Bulgaria and Romania, Vietnam and Hong Kong-each is a vital thread in the beautiful tapestry that is the Lindsay Christian Church. Let us fly the Christian flag high; let us become a house of prayer for all nations.

Greetings to all of you! Like many others have said in previous posts, I too was unaware that such a group existed and how badly I needed to read your stories and be able to tell my own. It's a long story, but I'll try to keep it to the Reader's Digest version :)
